VIDEO: Online privacy, freedom and security (in the era of transparency)

Last week, I was lucky enough to be invited to speak at a BBC social media conference, run by the BBC College of Journalism.

BBC Breakfast business presenter Stephanie McGovern chaired a debate with me, James Ball (@jamesrbuk), the Guardian data journalist, and Martha Gill (@martha_gill), a journalist with the Telegraph and New Statesman.]

I found the session pretty interesting, and I hope you do too.

Check out the video of the session above, but and ignore any bits which say that I’m a journalist *at* “The Independent“. That’s a mistake by the video producers.

It should just say that I *am* independent. Small “i” not a big “I”. Easy mistake to make I guess.
