There has been a new wave of the Google Jobs scam on Twitter that others have been tracking for some time.
Just as I was putting my suit on to attend the Virus Bulletin gala dinner tonight, I became aware that a number of Twitter users were trying to interest me in getting a job at Google.

A quick search on Twitter revealed many other people were seeing similar messages. In fact, as I type this, I can see scores of new messages like the following being posted on the site:
I heard on the news Google was hiring people to work from home. Here is the news article http://dwarfurl.com/01662
Clicking on the link takes your browser to www.jobswithgoogle.com, which appears to be an audaciously-crafted fake news page promoting employment with the search engine giant:
The purpose of the site, of course, is not to hire genuine employees for Google. Instead, the people behind the site actually want you to buy a “Google Work From Home Kit”, in the forlorn hope that it will be your route to financial freedom.
In your excitement you might not scroll right down to the bottom of the page and read the teensy-weensy small print:

As this site is being actively advertised by social networking spammers my advice would be to steer well clear. And if you want a real job with Google, go to their jobs page instead.
